Dr. Sterodimas and Dr. Pitanguy, the father of Modern Plastic Surgery, published in the prestigious British peer reviewed Journal of Plastic Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery, official journal of the British Association of Plastic Surgeons (BAPS), describing for the first time in literature the treatment of pectus excavatum by the use of autologous fat transplantation.
Dr. Sterodimas and Dr. Pitanguy state in this article that "The restoration of contour and symmetry is the main challenge in patients affected by this syndrome".
Dr. Sterodimas and Dr. Pitanguy conclude in this article that "The aesthetic improvement and the patient satisfaction show that autologous fat transplantation could be a safe technique for the correction of the mild Parry-Romberg syndrome".
